Sometimes a great story can come from a very simple idea.
The original request was made by our client Nugene Records to come and film a Blues Festival to be held in the island of Nevis in the Caribbean. We had not even heard of the place but as the story unfolded, this would be the very first Blues Festival to be held on a beach at this tropical paradise island, famous for its volcano! When we got there, we saw the incredible effort the producers were putting in to overcome the problems of working in such a remote place.
So much is taken for granted in putting on events such as this, but when it’s on a remote, peaceful island known mainly for its unusually large numbers of denominations, monkeys that outnumber the population and flash storms, it is no easy task. With the help of the amazingly hospitable locals, the numerous problems were overcome and a great festival featuring many international artists playing alongside the talented local musicians were made a reality.
