This was a major campaign and became a cult series of ads in its history, making the Yes Girl a celebrity in the process. It started in a very small modest way with a different presenter, when the ad agency (Walker Agency) asked how best to produce the adverts and required input from a writer/director point of view. The main concern was the existing presenter needed to be changed and worry was that audiences would get confused with a new one. This is never a problem and by use of clever costume design to stamp the brand, the girl within can be changed successfully and with good casting experience, a new girl Lucy was chosen who was a dream to work with. This was a used car sales company offering credit to those with credit problems so establishing the brand and hard hitting direct sale style ads worked well but levelled out. Problem was of an “image” as many saw the company with suspicion and fear of heavy handed treatment. Hence a series of humorous stories were created to show the gentle side of the company.

Clients were apprehensive of these at first as the ads were not hard selling direct in the usual style but very soon these ads became classics and the business increased substantially. The company was sold on successfully and the rest is history.
